Description of Program:
This program is designed to provide an environment where students are able to complete their homework with Tutors that are Common Core trained. Staff directly liaise with your schools teachers to ensure that homework expectations are met and that individual student needs are identified and worked on during their time with us. Once homework is completed, extra time is spent on academic areas identified by the students teacher and parents. Parents have the option to request one on one tutoring and/or have children participate in small group sessions.
Group Tutoring: Tutoring is conducted in groups of 6 with one certified common core teacher and an assistant. Children are broken up into grade levels where possible and will complete their homework or other assigned tasks as requested by the parent. Tutors liaise with teachers and parents and ensure that there is a consistent and tailored academic focus for each child.
On your schools short day we have added in a 1-2 hr Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math Booster (S.T.E.A.M) Class taken from our Gizmos and Gadgets curriculums. These classes are hands on S.T.E.A.M based and get your child out of the books and applying their theory to real life applications. They won’t even realize they are learning!
Our experience with after school homework is that children need breaks to eat their lunches and get reset for homework. We take this into account with our schedule and make sure each child is ready to take full advantage of their homework time.
Healthy Kids Planet:
For those who enroll in the program we have incorporated our Healthy Kids Planet Athletic Program, to get the children out of the classroom and running around. This program focuses on developing athletic skills and healthy habits!
